London Fashion Week: Street Style Shines Despite Challenges, Familiar Designers Reveal Styles

Despite the tense atmosphere leading up to London Fashion Week, with many brands canceling or abandoning their shows altogether, this didn't deter the most passionate fans

Their eclectic outfits, both inside and outside the showrooms, reflected London's long-standing tradition of breaking with fashion conventions.

Layering Steals the Show
Many spectators took innovative approaches to layering, which caught the eye. For example, some were seen layering a colorful cardigan over a dark winter coat, or layering a varsity jacket between two button-down shirts. Some of the most interesting looks didn't involve layering in the traditional sense; rather, they featured pieces with unique textures or materials that created an eye-catching optical illusion.

Designers Cling to Quality in the Face of Turmoil
As for the fashions shown on the runways, it seems the turmoil surrounding this Fashion Week season has instilled in some designers the motto, "Don't fix what's not broken."

Erdem Moralioglu showcased his brand's signature floral dresses, alongside some sparkly creations made of fringed, frilly appliqués.

Simone Rocha presented her romantic collection, which featured all manner of faux fur: some adorned dresses, some used as scarves, and one even served as a bra worn by Alexa Chung.

Edeline Lee, known for her carefully choreographed performances, had models grappling with weapons including fists, swords, and high heels.
