Brand Francisco Cansino, Mexico City, 2022
Francisco Cancino continues in a process of self-assessment, but this season the Mexican designer let his creativity fly more.
Flying
is a totally appropriate verb to talk about his new proposal, since
it’s called Aves (Birds) and refers to the migratory flight of birds
when they leave their nests to evolve in new frontiers. Cancino is doing
exactly this with his creations, exploring new aesthetic territories
and combining them with the codes for which his brand is recognized.
A
good example is the lace bodysuits with a Y2K vibe that he paired with
perfectly tailored linen pants. The bodysuits are a lure for a younger
buyer, and the second are brand signatures. “I want to show that my
clothes, which have a folk spirit, can be mixed with other things,” he
said. Cancino also surprised with a series of tartan print looks,
something totally unexpected in his universe but consistent with this
flight that he has undertaken and that seems to be taking him to new
heights.
