Spring/Summer 2025: un tributo alla principessa Vittoria Colonna nella Galleria del Cardinale Colonna di Roma

The Italian capital, Rome, witnessed an exceptional event in a luxurious and elegant atmosphere within the walls of the Galleria del Cardinale Colonna, where the fashion show of the creative designer Vittorio Camaiani was held. In the presence of more than 300 guests, Camaiani launched his Spring/Summer 2025 collection, titled "Giardino Segreto, pensando a Vittoria Colonna" (The Secret Garden, Thinking of Vittoria Colonna). The show was a tribute to the character of Princess Vittoria Colonna and her short but exciting love story with the Futurist artist Umberto Boccioni.

The collection was inspired by the book "Una parentesi luminosa" (A Luminous Period) by Mariella Caracciolo Chia, which recounts the secret story between the princess and the artist during the summer of 1916 on the Isolino di San Giovanni, on Lake Maggiore. With a masterful blend of classicism and modernity, Camaiani created designs that exude the aesthetics of a bygone era, yet with a contemporary spirit.

The event was attended by many prominent figures from the worlds of art, nobility, and cinema, including Princesses Gian Colonna, Lucia Odescalchi, and Marina Pignatelli, as well as Prince Guilmo Giovanelli, Marchesa Giuseppe Ferragoli, and actresses Violante Placido and Miriana Trevisan. Elena Parmegiani, Events Director of the Galleria del Cardinale Colonna, hosted the event, bringing her refined touch to the event's traditional and authentic aesthetic.

Collection That Balances Femininity and Sophistication

Camayani's designs reflect the life of Princess Vittoria Colonna at the beginning of the 20th century, covering various aspects of her life, from gardening to sports, intellectual gatherings, and evening dances. The collection included garments such as garden clothes and sportswear inspired by the 1920s, as well as elegant ensembles in colors such as green, yellow, purple, and lavender.

Among the collection's most notable details, the designer drew inspiration from the princess's love letters to Boccioni, translating them into fabrics such as linen and organza, transforming them into tangible symbols of emotional and poetic memories. Boccioni's influence is evident in the fashion design, from the menswear-inspired women's gilet to the white and blue tracksuits, to the perforated shoes crafted by Lila Baldi, along with luxurious touches such as lace, ruched, and pied de poule in mustard colors.

The nighttime transitions are embodied in the designs through warm dresses in lightweight fabrics, to sparkling pieces such as the royal blue crystal-embellished dress, a tribute to the starry sky.

Vittorio Camaiani's new collection was an unparalleled moment of elegance and cultural depth, highlighting how fashion can be a vehicle for storytelling and reviving the aesthetics of bygone eras with a contemporary twist. With unparalleled skill, Camaiani captured the free and rebellious spirit of Princess Vittoria Colonna, offering contemporary women a collection rich in meaning and interpretation, reviving the past with a modern and elegant style.
