After a year of corporate-inspired fashion, Kendall Jenner is taking a stylistic detour, embracing a look that’s less boardroom-chic and more folk-icon cool. Moving away from her signature minimalist aesthetic, Jenner appears to be stepping into A Complete Unknown territory, putting her own high-fashion twist on Bob Dylan’s iconic ’60s style—though, of course, with The Row tailoring and a Birkin bag in tow.
Her honorary brother-in-law, Timothée Chalamet, may have had some influence. The actor has been channeling Dylan himself on the red carpet, with subtle nods to the musician’s past looks, from a blonde beanie moment at the New York premiere—mirroring Dylan’s 2003 Sundance Film Festival appearance—to an ever-growing collection of statement skinny scarves.
Jenner, however, takes a more fashion-forward approach. Her interpretation of the trend includes on-trend suede jackets, structured Khaite straight-leg jeans, and what seems to be an early endorsement of a baker boy hat revival. Whether this signals a hidden ambition for a songwriting career—after all, they say to dress for the job you want—or simply a newfound appreciation for Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door, Jenner’s latest style transformation is one we’re fully on board with. That said, we wouldn’t expect her to embrace Dylan’s famously long fingernails anytime soon.
