Manhattan Turns Into Little Rome
Manhattan Transforms into a "Little Rome": 56 Italian Luxury Brands Launch "Icons of Italy" Festival in New York
In the largest event of its kind for the Italian luxury sector, Altagamma, the umbrella organization for Italy's high-end creative and cultural industries, announced the transformation of Manhattan into an open-air showcase celebrating "Made in Italy." The festival, titled "Icons of Italy," will take place from April 9th to 11th, featuring 56 brands representing the giants of fashion, design, automobiles, and jewelry.
A Map of Creativity: 43 Stores Transform into Living Museums
For three days, the luxurious storefronts of 43 flagship stores in New York will be transformed into cultural spaces hosting special art installations. Beyond mere displays, visitors will be able to:
Watch skilled artisans: Live demonstrations of traditional crafting techniques.
Participate in panel discussions: Engagements with renowned designers and presentations of exclusive fashion collections.
Taste the Luxury: A selection of the finest foods and drinks from across Italy.
Star List: From Prada to Ferrari
The list of participants includes the cream of Italian craftsmanship, including Bottega Veneta, Bulgari, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferragamo, Gucci, Max Mara, Prada, Valentino, Versace, and Zegna, as well as leading figures in the luxury yacht and automotive industries.
Matteo Ionelli: A Cultural Dialogue Across Oceans
Matteo Ionelli, President of the Altatagama Foundation, affirmed that this event embodies a profound cultural dialogue between Italy and the United States. He told Vagon Magazine:
"The American public has long appreciated the spirit of innovation and craftsmanship that characterizes Italian identity. Through this initiative, we want to offer New York visitors an authentic journey into the culture and traditions that define Italian excellence."
The "Journey of a Lifetime" Award Awaits the Creators
The festival has added an exciting interactive element; Attendees can document their experiences through photos or videos and share them for a chance to win a trip to Italy. Eighteen of the most compelling photos will be selected, and their creators will receive an exclusive two-night stay at one of eighteen five-star hotels in the Altatagama network across Italy.
Da Vinci Timeline: Celebrating National Day
The launch of this project, supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Trade Agency, coincides with the National Day of Made in Italy on April 15, the birthday of Leonardo da Vinci, the eternal icon of Italian creativity.
